Client:
Our client is a leading Australian diamond mining company recognized for excellence in safety, environmental sustainability, and community development.
Position:
As a Senior Server Engineer, you will directly work with the client's dynamic team on the decommissioning process at the Argyle Mine in Western Australia.
Your Responsibilities:
- Safe decommissioning of server infrastructure
- Plan and execute the shutdown, deactivation of physical and virtual servers
- Ensure and manage proper backups, data migration process
- Conduct audit of the server systems, documenting the hardware and software inventory before decommissioning.
- Follow Industry standards for data destruction and compliance
Your Profile:
- 10+ years of experience in server management and administration, with a significant portion in senior roles
- Deep knowledge of server operating systems (Windows server, Linux/Unix, cloud based servers) and hardware
- Expertise in virtualization platforms
- Experience with data migration tools and processes to ensure data integrity
- Experience in managing or leading server decommissioning projects, including planning, execution, and documentation
- Expertise in secure data handling and familiarity with industry standards for data destruction and compliance
- Ability to manage timelines and coordinate with teams
